Candidates + Issues Matrix

A friend sent me an email today, and although her emails are usually infinitely forwarded YouTube videos of babies giggling or some other fantastic use of my time, this one was a real gem. It shows you (with pertinent videos) how each of the presidential candidates feels about a particular issue. You can scroll up/down or left/right between candidates or issues and rate each one of them as to how closely they resemble your own sentiments on the idea. At the end you're left with a color-coded grid that should help make your favorite candidate stick out clearer and the opinions of everyone else, too. It sure beats listening to all that trivial mudslinging or waiting for FOX news to actually cover the issues.

MSNBC's Candidates & Issues Matrix

Update:

After much thought (maybe too much as I spent a couple hours) I've compared my opinion to all the candidates still in the running. Though it's helped, I'm going to keep an open ear for what else happens the next few months. BTW, there was no way to make this readable and still fit on the page, so click to englarge. =)

  1. Interesting.

Unfortunately, it doesn't cover all of the issues.

I wish I could pick and choose...although I tend to support Hillary, there are elements of what Edwards and Obama propose that I like better.

  2. In other news, listenting to these bands could make you gay.

  3. Although it is not unexpected, Edwards dropped out of the race today. Too bad he couldn't get enough support to keep it from a pure Clinton v. Obama slugfest.

My first choice, of course, was Dr. Josiah Barlett. Upon learning that he was purely fictional, I opted for Martin Sheen. He says he'd make a lousy president. Ever hopeful, I turned my attention to General Wesley Clark, hoping he would run again but, alas, no, he opted not to run. Then I thought, Al Gore. Would he run? I waited and waited but no...probably just as well...Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore...they all seem to be doing so much more outside of public office anyway.

Besides the Republicans would probably argue he could serve only one term because he won the popular vote in 2000.

  4. LOL - to both Steve's!

I really don't know about that "matrix" though, since these politicians will just about say ANYTHING to get a vote. In other words, a truthful politician is like a policy of Bush's that makes sense.

    There just isn't any! lol
