Sing it, Gurl!!

A girl at work today was watching this on YouTube today and it brought up some early gay memories for me. *blush*

***** FLASHBACK to 1994 *****

I had this song on tape and I sang to it several occassions I'm certain of it. *blush* And, NO, Stevie, I didn't sing into the mirror or anything .....okay, maybe into a toothbrush or something, but that still doesn't support your drag queen in training theory you're already conjuring up. =) But I did sing to it .... and maybe an occassional hand-wavie thing when doing arpeggios, BUT THAT WAS IT!! I was a very confused 13-year-old boy. Leave me alone. =)

Incidentally, while this song was extremely popular a girl at my brother's graduation (class of '94) sang it absolutely beautifully....you know, where you have to applaud in the middle of it it's so good like with Mariah singing it here.

  1. I don't think that constitutes confusion, more like exploration.

And although I suspend judgement on the musical choice, it's only because I was playing D&D with the other dorks and geeks in the chemistry lab and hoping nobody would notice I actually was gay.

I had a hopeless crush on my best friend. He wasn't quite the uber-geek the rest of us were...he played on the basketball team. Sometimes we'd have sleep overs and he'd have to change into or out of his jockstrap. What I saw made my heart jump, my stomach flutter and...oh, my mind seems to have wandered; damn ADD...where's my Concerta?

  2. Hmmmm I never played D&D game.
    I feel sooo left out!
Does being incredibly gifted in math and having a strong love for almost all things sci-fi-ish qualify me as a geek?? (don't answer that!)

Its a damn shame - really!! - that you didn't record yourself while singing Mariah's "Hero" song.

=) Good thing you're gay though, not a whole lot fo girls go for the geeky boys, but I know a lot of boys that do, myself included.
